You don’t need to face this alone or try to think your way out of anxiety. There are practical, proven tools that can help you break the cycle and rediscover peace of mind.
About Julie Carmichael, LICSW
I’m Julie Carmichael, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) specializing in the treatment of Obsessive‑Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders. For almost 20 years, I’ve helped adults overcome cycles of obsessive thinking, compulsive behaviors and chronic doubt using evidence‑based treatments that produce measurable change.
My practice integrates:
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – to identify and reshape unhelpful thought and behavior patterns
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) – the gold‑standard treatment for OCD
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – to help you accept thoughts while acting in line with your values
-
Inference‑Based CBT (I‑CBT) – to target the faulty reasoning that fuels obsessional doubt
I completed specialty training in OCD treatment through the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) in 2008 and maintain active involvement with the IOCDF community.
For nearly 2 decades, I have had the privilege of working closely with one of the world's leading OCD treatment hospitals, collaborating as a referral partner to ensure my clients receive the most comprehensive care.
My work is evidence‑based, outcome‑oriented, and grounded in compassion.
